GUISNES COURT

Known as Guisnes Court, this masterpiece was designed in 1914 by the architect Roy Keith Binney (1886 - 1957) for his mother. The design of the house is a mixture of Neo-Georgian and Crafts styles and has brick exterior walls that are of the English Arts and Crafts style. The residence has a grand country quality to the building; however, much of the near fenestration and larger French doors, with an ornate semi-circular transom above are Neo Georgian styling.

Both styles are an indication of the architect Lutyen's influence. The house originally had 12 rooms, laid out around a Grand Salon. The master bedroom looked out from a covered balcony to the garden.

Construction was completed by September 1915. After the First World War, Binney lived at the house with his mother; after she died in 1925, the house was sold and has passed through several owners since.

In 2001 the home and garden were extensively remodelled;. The current owners have upgraded the building and service facilities over the 20 years of their occupancy. Today, whilst retaining all the property's charm and dignity, the home provides everything you would want living in the 2020s.
